htaccess
The name of a file containing a special set of 'instructions' or 'rules' applying to files located in the same directory, commonly used to password protect folders, format URL's or similar.
htdocs folder
This is the main folder (directory) that your website's files can be stored inside your account - under your domain name. Additional folders (sub-directories) can be created inside the htdocs folder to store and organise your files. If you stored files for your website outside the htdocs folder (e.g: in your 'root' folder), you would not be able to access or view them using your domain name.
HTML
Acronym for "Hyper Text Markup Language". HTML is a code that webmasters use to control the way text, images and other formatting appears on a web page.
