CMS
Abbreviation for "Content Management System". This is the generic name given to a piece of software that manages the way dynamic content (such as news, articles and categories etc) are displayed on a website. Examples of popular content management systems are Joomla, PostNuke and Drupal.
CNAME
A CNAME is a record in a DNS database that indicates the true host name of any computer that its aliases are associated with. It is commonly used to create subdomains from existing top-level domains.
control panel
This is the control panel system used by customers to administrate their free web hosting account. Also referred to as the "VPanel", short for Vista Control Panel- the name of the control panel technology used.
CRON
Acronym for the "Command Run ON" functionality. CRON is a Unix based application that can be set to run scripts- performing jobs automatically for users and administrators on a web server.
